City of Fairfield Linear Park Concept Plan

The City of Fairfield asked Pinto Partners+ Partners to develop a new linear park that was formerly an old railroad line that traversed the City from the early 1900’s.  The Linear Park Concept Plan is essential to creating a new recreation/open space that will encourage new surrounding development, improve the commercial environment, and support adjacent neighborhoods by providing more opportunities for residents to live, work, and play in the area.

The Concept Plan builds its foundation on the history of the rail and the agriculture that has defined the development of Fairfield.  Enhancing the existing circulation network and trail to support pedestrian and bicycle access, creating safe and usable public open spaces, increasing opportunities for community activities, gatherings and special events, and significantly increasing the amount of recreation spaces will dramatically transform this under-served segment of the community with a new vibrant character and distinct identity for Central Fairfield.
